- I never got this impression, I think that English speakers fit this description, since
- the language has become so international, you can go anywhere it seems and get away
- with speaking English. Italians, Croatians, and Vietnamese don't seem to have this luxury
- for example...

- I don't know about the UK, but I've always wondered, how many people in AUSTRALIA speak another
- language? I think the situation in the US is actually improving... although the second
- language of choice is usually the same (Spanish) there really are a lot of people who are
- competent in some other language, I think more than 20 years ago.
